Artists without Frontiers (AWF) stands for the free flow and exchange of thought within and between all nations. Its members commit themselves to oppose all forms of censorship and suppression of artistic activities.

We are artists from all over the world who support each other and are ready to campaign in defense of other artists and for human rights, freedom of expression, and advancement of education, protection of the world cultural heritage and against war, torture, abuse, and censorship. By coming together to share our vision and passion, our feelings, our works and our problems, we can certainly hope to change things for the better.

AWF is a voluntary, non-profit making, non-governmental trust with a charitable status appealing to all concerned citizens in particular artists.

Our Aims:

• To promote intellectual and cultural co-operation and understanding among artists;
• To create a world community of artists that would emphasize the central role of art in the development of world culture; and,
• To defend the arts against the many threats to its survival which the modern world poses.

To achieve the above aims we intend:

• To bring together artists around the world, arranging educational classes, workshops, seminars, events, exhibition, research projects and other activities for the benefit of the community and the Arts;
• To promote cross- cultural understanding and to help build a network of mutual help and dialogue among artists;
• To Advance and promote human rights, particularly of artists suffering from imprisonment, censorship or cultural isolation;
• To research the needs, problems and experiences of a new generation of young and potential artists, and to help further their education and training and to help them advance their careers.
