Biography :
Florence Lippett was born in England,
March 1959. She began her vocal training at the age of
13 with the Mezzo Soprano Lesley Tremethick. In 1982
she obtained her degree in music with Honours from Colchester
Institute of Music and Drama. She also has postgraduate
certificate in performing from Guildhall School of music
and drama, London. She studied with the renowned soprano
Noel Barker and accompanist Paul Hamburger.
Florence has won numerous vocal
competitions, including the Coveted Eva Turner Trophy
and the Peter Pears award
for artistic singing. She is a lyric soprano specializing
in recital work, Oratories, masses, cantatas, etc. But
has also appeared in a number of operas including the
part of Helen in Hindemith's Hinud Zuruck, Donna Elvira
in Mozart's " Don Glovanni", and all of the
Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. She covers all era of
music from renaissance to the twentieth century. Florence
is married to the composer Saeed Sharifian who has given
a number of first performances of his songs both in Europe
and Iran. Florence has been living in Iran for the past
13 years, but regularly travels abroad to continue her
concert activity. She holds a licentiate from the Royal
College of music, London both in performing and teaching.
